As wedding season is in full swing, I am reminded of what a true blessing it is to be able to photograph the unique love between two people. It’s an ever greater honor to be able to see this love grow and even document a couple’s relationship over time.

This past July, a group of us went on a missions trip to Thailand (be on the lookout for a recap of that trip in a blog post soon!). We are no strangers to this amazing country and once our mission was over, we took full advantage of the gorgeous island of Koh Samet for our friends’ anniversary photoshoot. We photographed Erin and Steve’s destination wedding in Cancun back in 2013 and so it seemed fitting to have a destination anniversary shoot as well. Erin and Steve are a couple who are near and dear to our hearts. They have a gift of encouraging and helping others to realize their giftings and dreams, and they love and care for others so well. It has been such a blessing to see them work together as husband and wife to encourage and inspire people to live a life that is clearly focused on God’s love. Erin and Steve – happy 3 year anniversary! May your love continue to lift up others and may this year bring more blessing and favor than ever before!

It seems like Autumn came  and went in a blink of an eye. I can’t believe winter is already here! When news of the first snowfall came to our area, my ears perked up. Though sometimes winter can be a time of rest for us natural light photographers, I wanted to try something new and shoot in the snowfall. An amazing newlywed couple, David and Lauren, came along and a great location, so needless to say I was stoked! Lauren and I had a mutual excitement for the shoot – it was a perfect fit! Ideally, the snow would have been light and fluffy to look like cotton balls falling elegantly around the couple.. but the snow turned to freezing rain and sleet during the shoot! Despite the weather (and David’s hair freezing to ice!!), we had such a great time with David and Lauren. The snow even provided a giant, natural reflector for us – we are loving winter snow photoshoots. And can I just say, these images are really a tribute to some amazing husbands! My husband, for going along with all my crazy ideas and holding an umbrella over my camera through the entire shoot and Lauren’s husband, David for loving her so much that he would model with her in snow and freezing rain! We hope you enjoy the highlights from this Winter Story photoshoot. David & Lauren, we are so happy to have met you and wish you many blessings in your  marriage!
