Joanne and Danny’s wedding at La Fontaine Bleue was a joyous occasion filled with emotion, fun, and surprises! They started the day at the beautiful College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, where the grounds made for an exquisite backdrop for their first look and wedding party photos. Their purple and silver tones were woven into every aspect of their celebration so thoughtfully with the talents of the creative team from Michelle Weddings. Joanne and Danny’s sweet love shone through out their day, especially at the reception where Danny shared a special thank you message to his new bride, and Joanne and her father surprised their guests with a choreographed father-daughter dance that had everyone on their feet!

Joanne and Danny, what a beautiful time it has been to get to know you two through out the months as your wedding photographer. Thank you for the honor it has been and we wish you abundant blessings for your marriage and future together! Julia and Stephen’s Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery wedding was not only a winter favorite filled with gorgeous DIY decor, but it was such a love filled celebration with such a thoughtful and caring community surrounding the newlyweds. Their day began at the Memorial Chapel at the University of Maryland, where both Julia and Stephen attended college. The processional began with ten (yes, ten!) of the cutest flower girls ever – who happen to be none other than Julia’s students from Sunday school (how sweet is that?). Then as Stephen saw Julia for the first time that day, walking down the aisle with her father, the tears and tender smiles filled the room. It was a memorable ceremony with contributions in music and prayer from many of their church family members who played a big part in the wedding day and in their lives

The celebration continued at Springfield Manor, where we were surprisingly able to enjoy the outdoors on this mild, winter day. All the details that surrounded the wedding were made possible by bride and groom, their families, and their dear church family and friends. Julia’s Bible teacher had asked her for her wedding day vision and then delegated all the necessary tasks to make Julia and Stephen’s vision a reality. The elegant tablescape at the reception included pieces of moss, candles, and succulents that doubled as wedding favors. The most impressive part? The bride made the planters and grew some of the succulents herself! Their wedding cake was made from multiple naked cakes then covered with fresh berries and powdered sugar (amazing!!) Two talented hand-letterer friends helped the bride write calligraphy on the succulent planters, and also created the wedding calligraphy for the day.

Julia’s stunning, low back reception gown was such a perfect complement to the elegance of the evening. The ambience of the day was charming as it was meaningful and spirit filled. We were so honored to be a part of capturing the moments of this day! Julia and Stephen, it’s been a true blessing to meet you and see your love story continue its journey. Much love!

Heather and Ali’s New Year’s Eve wedding at the Alexandrian Hotel is one we won’t soon forget! Though it was a chilly winter evening, the warmth of this couple along with their family and friends made for such a memorable celebration. Their New Year’s eve theme shined with the beautiful holiday backdrops of Old Town Alexandria and the Alexandrian Hotel, with touches of black, white, gray, silver to highlight the festivities. Heather was stunning in her wedding gown adorned with the most intricate details!

Heather and Ali met at Penn State where they both attended undergraduate school. Ali was friends with Heather’s brother and it wasn’t long before people noticed what a great fit they were for each other and it also wasn’t long before they became the best of friends. Many of their guests were also Penn State alumni and it was such a blast to ring in the new year with this close knit group! There were so many memorable parts of this day, but one that stood out was prior to their first look, witnessing Heather read a letter that Ali had written to her and tearing up (along with Heather and everyone else in the room) at how Heather had written many of the same things in her letter to her soon to be husband. Their wedding vows were also one of the sweetest we have seen. The couple took turns speaking their promises to one another in a unique, heartfelt ceremonial tradition. And the day wouldn’t have been complete without some photographs of Heather and Ali’s fur baby, Rito.. who has got to be the most photogenic dog we’ve ever met! The entire wedding day was filled with laughter, happy tears, and of course lots and lots of dancing!

Heather and Ali, thank you for welcoming us to document your wedding day celebration and for also making us feel like family! You two are amazing and we wish you all the most blessed marriage and future together. Congratulations, again!

Melissa and Seneca enjoyed an intimate wedding to close out 2016 and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. The burgundy with touches of gold and ivory theme wove through many aspects of their wedding day, specifically Seneca’s burgundy blazer – we loved it! Melissa looked stunning in her delicate, low back lace wedding dress and Jimmy Choo’s that were meant for this day. The joyous couple were married at the Crowne Plaza in Tyson’s Corner and then continued the festivities with an incredibly elegant family style meal to celebrate with their families. The celebration of their marriage will continue into the new year with a destination reception later in 2017. Punta Cana, here we come! Melissa and Seneca, we are so excited to be on this journey with you, and honored to be able to share your love story!

Dionca and Victor’s intimate wedding ceremony at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens was such a lovely occasion for this charming couple. The two met in high school and have been inseparable ever since! It has been eight years since that time and when they started dating, Victor asked Dionca to make it official on her birthday. So it was only fitting for them to begin their happily ever after on Victor’s birthday – how sweet is that! And what a stunning bride Dionca made, donning a simple yet elegant sweater and tulle skirt that was just perfect for their special day. We roamed the lush grounds of Meadowlark and were so pleasantly surprised that the foliage stayed with us a little while longer this year. Dionca and Victor, what a pleasure it was to document the beginning of your journey as a married couple. Thank you for the privilege and we are looking forward to celebrating with you again next year.
