There is so much to say about this adorable couple! Their Georgetown Waterfront engagement session truly expressed the love they both share for one another.
It was the summer of 2013 when Sally and Eric first met. The two were separately attending a church retreat where Eric had been invited to play the bass for her church’s praise team. She immediately recognized that he was an unfamiliar face, but did not spend much time with him that night. Sally started to notice that Eric spent time with those from her church often. It was not until a church flag football game that the two started to bond. From that day forward, they were inseparable.
From their first date, the two shared their passions and purpose for life together and realized they shared much in common. Eric asked Sally to be his girlfriend in January of 2014 over a game of Scrabble at a local coffee house (of course with “Will you be my gf?” written in the Scrabble letters!). Eric was Sally’s first official boyfriend, so she spent many days making sure things were perfect in their relationship. However, she secretly knew Eric was always the one for her, even in February of that same year.
In May 2017, the couple decided to take a short vacation to Virginia Beach before Sally began an intense summer course. They played several games throughout their trip together and determined the final “loser” would give the “winner” a gift at the end of the vacation. Sally was unsure of what to give Eric if she lost, so she was determined to win them all! Eric presented Sally with her gift on the deck of their hotel: a candy ring pop. At the time, she did not associate this with a proposal, although Eric had jokingly mentioned he would propose to her with one! Little did she know, he had her engagement ring all along, and he asked her to marry him that night. Her heart had always been set on him, but that was the day she had been waiting for so long.
Sally and Eric rejoiced over their new engagement with this outdoor session in the neighborhood of Georgetown, Washington, D.C. What a beautiful day it was to stroll the waterfront and enjoy the cool weather with this stunning couple! As Sally and Eric walked the area, we stopped at multiple locations where the greenery perfectly complimented the architecture. The two naturally blended with the scenery, and their love effortless showed through each shot. This session was topped off with moments of golden sunlight peeking through the background of an already beautiful love story.
This cute couple will host their June 2018 wedding in Haymarket, Virginia. They both plan for the day to be a precious, thankful, and peaceful event. As wonderful as they already are, I’m positive that will not be a problem!
Sally and Eric, I am looking forward to seeing your wedding story unfold soon, and thanks for allowing me to be a part of it!
