These Great Falls wedding portraits are a commemorative piece to a simple, yet unique love story.
Virginia and Alvin connected when the two were living in Baltimore through an online dating site. This medical researcher and high school teacher had no idea they would fall so hard for each other when they first met, but their casual conversations quickly turned into a perfect match. The couple swapped their first “I love yous” together as they embarked on a sight-seeing adventure to New York City alongside a vacation to meet Alvin’s parents in New Jersey. As their relationship blossomed, the two moved in together as Alvin began his first year in medical school. During this time, Virginia had no doubt this love would last a lifetime.
Virginia and Alvin took the next step in their love story through an engagement in Denver, Colorado. What makes this moment special to them, however, is how it all happened! According to Virginia, she planned her own engagement as a Christmas present from Alvin, even picking out her own ring! Although she says he may not agree, the two were overjoyed to become engaged and plan their big day.
The couple believed in simplicity for their wedding day and had a focus on two core elements: great food and memorable photography! The day began at the breathtaking Great Falls to document moments between the soon-to-be bride and groom. As we walked the property, we stopped along various trails to gaze at the waters and magnificent rock formations. Virginia sported an elegant blue gown paired with vibrant florals and a stunning braided updo. Since having their portrait session at Great Falls was something she very much so wanted for their wedding, capturing their love during this shoot was effortless. Their chemistry and connection shined brightly in the morning air – what a special way to start an amazing day!
The day continued with an intimate, mid-day ceremony at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Rockville, Maryland. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Virginia and Alvin made their marriage official. As part of Alvin’s wish for amazing food, guests were invited after the ceremony to an authentic Italian dinner at Cinghiale in Baltimore. A simple and sweet day for such a fantastic couple!
During their time as husband and wife, the two are excited to continue to travel, check out new exhibits, and try new restaurants. They say they are already a great team, and I must say…I have to agree it will only get stronger during their marriage! Virginia and Alvin, thank you for allowing me to be a small piece to your wedding story. You were a joy to work with, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!
