A cool October day filled with outstanding floral arrangements made this Meadowlark Botanical Gardens engagement session the perfect celebration of new love.
Mew and Jeff met in the summer of 2009 in College Park, Maryland. Jeff and his cousin had been playing tennis weekly at the time. One week, Jeff’s cousin decided to invite Mew to a game of tennis where she unexpectedly stumbled upon the love of her life. In November of that year, Mew and Jeff officially became a couple. They spent seven years learning and growing together, including buying their first home in 2015! During this time, Mew carefully watched how Jeff took great care of his family. Although such a small detail, she realized his kindness and actions were the characteristics she wanted to see in her future husband. He had always showed their families and her the upmost respect from very early on in their relationship. Mew knew that he was specially-made for her.
In January 2017, the couple traveled to Kyoto, Japan, along with Jeff’s parents and Mew’s sister. Jeff decided this trip was going to be the defining moment of their next chapter. When the couple reached the Golden Pavilion, he got down on one knee and proposed to his sweetheart. With their loved ones by their side (along with several other tourists!), Jeff publicly pronounced his deep love for Mew. The proposal was topped off with a surprise snow fall!
I was honored to commemorate this amazing season of their relationship with a Meadowlark Botanical Gardens engagement session. We walked amongst the brilliant trees of the property, stopping along the way to capture moments alongside the greenery. Mew sported an elegant, flowing gown that graciously complimented her blush florals. The two were constantly smiling and bright during our time together, and their genuine connection made shooting this session so natural! Throughout the day, we were blessed to witness the changing of leaves and the deep feel of fall weather.
Mew and Jeff will host their classic, modern wedding in April 2018 at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. They plan for the day to encompass traditional aspects with touches of rose gold, greens, and marble whites.
