Not all stories are told like a fairytale. Hannah and Jason’s Old Town Alexandria engagement session was a time to reflect on their interesting start and beautiful new beginning.
“Before we were dating, I thought to myself, if I get into this one, I’m probably never going to get out.”
Hannah and Jason did not start out like your average couple. There was no grand meeting or first date…well that they can recall! The two met through mutual friends in their area. Upon their first interactions, Hannah and Jason were not quite fond of each other. She claims he was a little “weird”, and he says she wasn’t the nicest! As time went on, they strongly refused to start seeing one another, even after a nudge from Jason’s sister-in-law. The couple reconnected a year later at his sister-in-law’s wedding where Hannah was a bridesmaid and Jason was the best man. To their surprise, the two spent the whole night getting to know one another. Time went on, and they began running into each other more often at different Starbucks in the area. We will never know if one was following the other, but as they saw each other more, they knew this was the perfect match.
In February 2017, Jason promised Hannah a dinner date in historic Georgetown, Washington, D.C. While the two were around town, Jason had their friends set up the proposal at the church Hannah grew up in. When they arrived, she was given pages from a photo album, each showcasing a different season of their lives. The final page leading into the sanctuary indicated that the photo album was not finished. As they walked in, Hannah was greeted by flowers, lights, and balloons with the couple’s initials. Jason took her to the front of the altar and asked her to be his forever.
I was blessed to capture their new engagement in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The couple walked the streets of the town under the elegant trees and golden sunlight. I absolutely adored how playful and loving they were during this summer engagement shoot!
Hannah and Jason will hold their wedding in December 2017 at the University of Maryland Memorial Chapel, followed by an unforgettable reception at the Stamp Grand Ballroom. The two plan for their event to be “epic, big, and joyful!”
I am SO looking forward to seeing you two soon to continue your unique love story!
