Oxon Hill Manor Wedding

Every girl fantasizes about her wedding day, and Anna was no exception. This Oxon Hill Manor wedding was her big dream turned into a beautiful reality.

Anna and Lawrence met several years ago through mutual friends in their small Northern Virginia community; however, they were merely acquaintances back then. They were just two simple people who knew of each other, but hadn’t truly connected as friends. Years passed, and Lawrence had moved away for some time. It wasn’t until he moved back to their home town when their friendship began to blossom. Anna realized how much of Lawrence was a part of her (as she says, her other half!), and she was eager to continue getting to know him on a deeper level.

Their story of destiny continued during their time attending church together. Anna discovered her forever love for Lawrence through a true moment of faith when he gave his life to The Lord. She knew that if her husband could love her while building a stronger love for God, she had found the one whom her soul was searching for. In August 2017, Lawrence made their relationship official through a surprise proposal in New York City. Lawrence first asked Anna to be his girlfriend in Central Park and felt it would be the perfect place to continue the next chapter of their journey. After an hour of walking through the park, he proposed to her by a scenic rock that overlooked the city. Although there were unplanned hiccups in Lawrence’s engagement plans, the two thought the moment was the best way to celebrate their love!

Anna and Lawrence held their May 2018 wedding in Oxon Hill, Maryland. We first met up with the bride and her bridesmaids in the mid-afternoon at the Gaylord Resort to capture those last candid moments before the ceremony. The bridesmaids wore delicate touches of neutrals and blush as exquisite accents to Anna’s two gorgeous bridal gowns. The girls held their own surprise reveal of the bride in her ceremony gown – what a beautifully emotional moment!! After documenting the precious details of her day, we were off to meet the groom. The couple chose to share a private first look where they swapped vows and enjoyed a short time of reflection together. Each moment of their first look was breathtaking to watch, and the love they hold between them is so rich.

Guests were invited to an outdoor ceremony at the Oxon Hill Manor featuring a extraordinary trellis draped with soft white cloth and outstanding floral greenery. The modern, yet traditional ceremony moved us to tears as Anna and Lawrence’s hearts became one in front of all of those they love. The afternoon continued at a tented outdoor reception amongst the property, and the design of the reception was nothing short of perfection! Our bride had gone to great lengths to ensure each detail was covered in her guests’ experiences. The crisp whites of the table settings and tent decor were accented by touches of blush and neutrals throughout the venue. As part of their formal event, all in attendance were served a pleasant plated dinner amongst long, grand tables. Delightful appetizers, a donut wall, and even the cutest serving of cookies and milk added to the overall ambiance of their thoughtfully planned dinner reception. The bride and groom spent their wedding dancing the night away with family and friends, never to forget how much they’ve grown together in love.

The newlyweds’ next stop was to a dreamy honeymoon in St. Lucia. This Fixer Upper-loving couple enjoys spending time together through cooking, hiking, shopping, and fun date nights. They are looking forward to learning more about each other in their married life, along with picking out furniture for their first home! I can’t say enough about how marvelous this wedding day was, but Anna and Lawrence were even more wonderful to work with! I am so excited to see how their love story continues…
