Hi When you’re a dreamer, there are so many beautiful ideas that run through your mind. After two years of dreaming, God allowed for this moment to become a reality. This Bluemont, Virginia, styled shoot is a powerful statement of freedom, love, and timeless romance.
“Three things will last forever — faith, hope, and love — but the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:13
There was a special moment God and I shared two years ago that led to this specific shoot. I’ve always had a passion for photography, but He wanted me to use my platform for more than I could have ever imagined. Using the gift of photography, He guided me to capture a profound illustration of the depths of His Love, knowing that was my heart’s true desire. That’s when the vision of this shoot came to me in great detail, one that I will never forget. I saw a couple standing on a mountain peak, reveling in the beauty of His creation. The breathtaking moments spoke of freedom, endurance, patience, and His presence. We have traveled many mountains (some more arduous than others) since that time, and each time a new climb comes our way, I remember this vision He gave me. The Greatest of These is Love styled shoot was created to embody His Words while showcasing His precious creations surrounded by beautiful elements and nature.
Captured on a sunny day overlooking the Shenandoah Valley in Bluemont, VA, this styled shoot exudes a timeless, authentic design that relies heavily on understated organic beauty. The essence of the mountain overlook was captivating, making it the perfect canvas to showcase the bride’s fashion and loose-feeling organic blooms. The bride wears a minimal style gown that boasts of exquisite detailing with layers of soft flowing tulle. Her hair and makeup are soft and kissed by the wind, giving her a look of simplistic beauty. The groom is sporting his navy suit and thin light blue tie as a compliment to his elegant bride. This captivating pair make for a perfect early spring wedding affair.
The outdoor tablescape features a floral centerpiece outfitted with ample greenery and lush pastel-colored blooms. The arrangement adds a delicate freshness to the light wood table and chairs while touches of silver accents bring a modern, yet simultaneously timeless feel to the venue. The ivory silk runner, silver candlesticks, and mother of pearl flatware were just a few of the highly detailed pieces featured on this grand buffet.
The design details of this shoot added to the ambiance of this mountain escape. The invitation suite captures the understated elegance of the day by displaying custom calligraphy on soft, hand-torn linen stationary. Exquisite handmade sugar flowers and greenery gently cascade down the gorgeous cake while drawing the viewer in for a closer look. Paired with remarkable marble and ruffle designs on the layers, this cake takes a traditional wedding cake to new, modern heights. A lose foraged wreath with soft floral blooms became an undeniable statement in this shoot as a reminder that pure love is the greatest of all. The free-flowing bridal bouquet resembles gathering fresh spring blooms on a peaceful walk, and the colors and textures are paired together perfectly to create a dramatic bouquet perfect for this diverse bride and groom. From the classic details to the unexpected modern touches, understated beauty was plentiful in every single corner of this styled shoot.
I am blessed and humbled by the team of creatives who came together to make this vision come to life. Each member’s hard work, eye for style, and passion for art made for a day I will cherish forever. Never, ever give up on those big, God-sized dreams.
